What Is The Republic of Jeraco?
The Republic of Jeraco is a micronation, micro (meaning small) nation (meaning country). Jeraco is a small, self-proclaimed country. Like their larger counter parts, micronations have a functioning government, an active economy, laws, citizens, services, etc. Micronations have come in and out of existence for thousands of years, they are typically formed from political upheaval, land disputes, or pure creativity!
The Republic of Jeraco seceded from the Commonwealth of Canada on November 15th 2014, claiming a small patch of land in the city of Penticton, British Columbia. Jeraco was created out of curiosity and creativity, there was no controversy surrounding our formation. We drafted a constitution and designed a national flag, welcomed our first citizens, and began our nation's small, but significant story.
2024 will mark our tenth anniversary. Today, Jeraco resides on the Central Coast, NSW, Australia. Has over 100 citizens worldwide, an economy, its own laws, and is recognized by multiple other micronations.
